Our Community - Port Alexander, AK
Port Alexander is a quaint boardwalk-fishing village in Southeast
Alaska, 75 air miles south of Sitka. About 70 independent people
live on this rugged tip of Baranof Island, surrounded by mountains,
forests, fjords, and the pristine North Pacific Ocean. No one can
drive to Port Alexander because there are neither roads nor cars
within 75 miles of the scenic little community, and visitors arrive
by floatplane or boat. Our remote location helps to ensure that your
vacation will be full of cozy camaraderie, rather than combative
crowds.
